why it works
Your follicles did not die. They went quiet.
A follicle that has stopped producing hair has not died. It is between cycles, and nothing is telling it to start the next one. In a healthy scalp that gap is a few weeks. When the signal weakens it stretches to months — and the spot thins because more follicles are sitting empty at the same time.
Getting one going again is not one job, it is five: a restart signal, a longer growth phase, the DHT brake off, the anchor and blood supply restored, and enough follicles kept in growth at once that it actually shows. Each one is a different active. Each has its own study behind it, and its own concentration that the study used.
Formula No5 is all five, at those concentrations, left on the scalp overnight.
- 3% Redensyl Restarts the follicle — acts on the stem cells at the base that decide when the next hair begins.
- 4% AnaGain Lengthens the growth phase, so a hair is allowed to grow long and thick before it lets go.
- 5% Capixyl Takes the DHT brake off and rebuilds the collagen around the follicle.
- 3% Procapil Strengthens the protein anchoring each hair, and opens the vessels feeding it.
- 3% Baicapil Keeps more follicles growing at the same time, so what comes back stays.
- Total active concentration18%
● Multi-Active Follicle Technology
most hair serums sit on the surface—Anagen Lab signals at the root.
*In a peer study of n=35 individuals with occasional hair growth challenges
SURFACE PHASE
Optimizes scalp delivery—hydrating humectants and calming actives soften the surface barrier, reduce irritation, and create a healthy scalp environment so the actives can absorb efficiently.
ROOT-SIGNALING PHASE
Activates follicles at the root—five clinically studied botanical actives reach the follicle zone to signal growth pathways, support anagen renewal, and help reduce telogen shedding over time.

Ninety seconds, or eight hours.
A thickening shampoo sits on your scalp for about ninety seconds and then goes down the drain. None of the five above does anything in ninety seconds — the studies behind them all ran on leave-on application, daily, for twelve weeks or more. Half a dropper at night, never rinsed, is a whole night of contact instead. That is the difference between an ingredient list and a dose.
- Weeks 1 to 4 Nothing visible yet. If you were shedding, this is usually where it settles — less in the brush, less in the plughole.
- Weeks 4 to 8 The first new hairs. Short, soft, often lighter than the rest, easiest to see at the hairline and along the parting.
- Weeks 8 to 12 Those hairs thicken and take colour. This is usually when it starts showing in photographs rather than only in the mirror.
- Months 3 to 6 The honest window. A follicle cycle runs in months, not weeks — which is why the course is three bottles and the guarantee runs to 150 days.
Use it every night. If you are not seeing the difference by day 150, email us and every penny comes back — you do not need to send the bottles back and you do not need to photograph anything. Five months is the honest window for a hair product. Most people judge one at four weeks, and four weeks is not long enough to tell.
Individual results vary. Cosmetic, leave-on, nothing systemic.
formulated to target all major hair growth deficiencies
stress
Chronic stress disrupts the hair growth cycle, prematurely pushing follicles into shedding phases.
- Helps support follicles impacted by elevated cortisol
- Reinforces the growth (anagen) phase under stress conditions
- Supports scalp balance during periods of physical or emotional stress
hormones
Hormonal fluctuations can interfere with follicle signaling and nutrient delivery to the scalp.
- Supports healthy follicle response to hormonal shifts
- Helps maintain optimal scalp signaling pathways
- Designed to reinforce growth during hormonal imbalance
menopause
Declining estrogen levels during menopause can weaken follicles and reduce hair density over time.
- Supports follicles affected by estrogen decline
- Helps improve hair shaft strength and thickness
- Designed for age-related density loss
postpartum
After pregnancy, hormonal drops can trigger widespread shedding known as postpartum hair loss.
- Supports follicles transitioning after pregnancy
- Helps normalize the hair growth cycle post-partum
- Reinforces regrowth during shedding recovery
aging
As we age, follicles shrink, growth slows, and hair becomes finer and less resilient.
- Helps counteract follicle miniaturization
- Supports cellular repair and regeneration
- Designed to maintain density and scalp vitality over time
alopecia
Certain forms of alopecia involve disrupted follicle signaling and inflammatory stress on the scalp.
- Supports weakened or compromised follicles
- Helps maintain a healthy scalp environment
- Reinforces growth pathways impacted by follicular stress
dehydrotestosterone (dht)
DHT can bind to follicles, gradually shrinking them and shortening the hair growth cycle.
- Helps protect follicles from DHT-related stress
- Supports normal follicle size and function
- Designed to maintain long-term growth signaling

faq
I’m over 65. Is it too late?
Not if the follicles are still running. The ones that have finished don’t come back; the ones still producing fine hairs can be told. The woman in the photograph at the top of this page was 66 when she started.
My bloods came back normal. So why is it still going?
Because it was never a supply problem. A normal result means the follicle has everything it needs in the blood beside it. What it has lost is the instruction to start the next cycle. Nothing you swallow can send that; something on the skin, overnight, can.
Will anyone in the house know I’m using it?
No. It goes on at night, through the applicator, onto the scalp. It’s dry before you lie down. Ten seconds along the parting, ten across the crown, and you can do it without your glasses.
How long until I see results?
Nothing for a month. Less in the brush at five or six weeks. The bobble or ponytail around week seven. New short hairs under a camera at about four months. If you want something in a fortnight, this isn’t it, and nothing is.
Can I use it with Regaine, HRT or supplements?
Yes. Whether you still need the supplements is a question your blood result has probably already answered.
Is it safe to use every day?
Yes — it is made for daily use. Once a day on a dry or towel-dried scalp, left on. Night suits most people because it then has hours to work.
Can I use it with other hair products?
Yes, it layers well with your existing hair care routine.
How does Formula No5 work?
Formula No5 works by delivering five clinically studied botanical actives to the scalp. Each one targets a different part of the hair cycle — waking dormant follicles, extending the growth phase, and slowing the signals that trigger shedding. Applied daily, they reach the follicle zone and support thicker, stronger, denser-looking hair over time.
